Cort Farris grew up listening to the music of steel drums. At the age of 15 he began his professional career as a drummer in the Steel Source, a Philadelphia area steel drum band. He later attended Berflee College of Music for percussion. There Farris envisioned his own group that would expand upon the steel drum traditions of calypso and combine them with the music he studied at Berklee. |
